Monitoring and Concurrent Evaluation of Watershed Projects in Medak and Nalgonda districts assisted under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) in Andhra Pradesh - National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD), Mumbai - June 2003 – July 2004
AFC carried out monitoring and evaluation of RIDF assisted watershed projects, in order to assess the project implementation process by covering various components such as Project Selection criteria, Planning and Design, Project Staffing for Implementation, Tendering Process, Implementation Schedule and Progress of Works, Progress and Physical Completion of Works, Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation, Supervision of Works and Quality Control, Financial Management of Project, Operation and Maintenance Management, Environmental Issues, Coordination amongst Institutions, Community Participation, and Training needs of Staff and Communities. Also rapid concurrent evaluation was carried out through assessment of benefits realized to farmers, impact on rural socio-economy, impact on rural support services and environment, and community capacity to participate in project activities. Based on field observations policy recommendations were given.
