Study on Alternative Crop Models for Degraded lands in Uttar Pradesh - . State Land Use Board, State Planning Commission, Uttar Pradesh - 2005-06.
In this Study, AFC suggested suitable crop models. The degraded lands were classified in six main categories viz., eroded land, salt affected, ravineous, diara, plateau and water logged. For each type of lands, suitable crop models were suggested keeping in view the existing crop pattern, cropping intensity and forward and backward linkages. A tentative Action Plan was also suggested for implementation by the concerned departments viz. Agriculture, Horticulture Forests, etc.
