Preparation of District wise Master plan for Minor Irrigation Schemes of Jharkhand state under “Gram Bhagirathi Yojna”- Water Resources Dept., Govt. of Jharkhand - (2004)
Gram Bhagirathi Yojana, a Statewide programme was conceived to provide irrigation facility to each and every village in Jharkhand State to the extent feasible and aimed at preparing a Master Plan of Minor Irrigation Development for the entire State through new construction and repair of existing Minor Irrigation schemes (Check Dam, Ahar, Tank and Pond) as identified by Water Resources Department as well as through newly identified schemes through PRA technique. The GBY Plan envisages utilizing the latest technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) to serve as the data base covering both spatial and non-spatial variables leading to formulation of District Feasibility Reports for all the districts in the State and also preparation of Detailed Project Reports for feasible schemes in each district.
