Preparation of District Agriculture Plan (DAP) and State Agriculture Plan (SAP) under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) in Uttar Pradesh
A special Central Assistance Scheme - Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) has been launched by the Ministry of Agriculture & Cooperation, Government of India with 100 percent grant for incentivizing the states to increase their investments in the agriculture and allied sectors in order to achieve sustainable 4 percent annual growth in the agriculture sector during the XIth Five Year Plan period.
The Department of Agriculture, Government of Uttar Pradesh is the nodal department for implementation of RKVY in the State. The tasks of preparation of District Agriculture Plan (DAP) under Stream – In 66 districts out of 71 districts of the State as well as the State Agriculture Plan (SAP) for the XIth Five Year Plan under RKVY within the framework of guidelines of Government of India was entrusted to AFCL.
Following the approach and methodology in accordance with Government of India guidelines, DAP for 66 districts were prepared through participatory approach involving the rural populace and development departments in the agriculture and the allied sectors. These DAPs contain a shelf of schemes for holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors in the respective districts. State Agriculture Plans envisage an investment of Rs. 7135 crores during XIth Plan period in agriculture and allied sectors in Uttar Pradesh were also prepared. This prestigious assignment has been completed in a record time. |
