AFC India (AFC) is a multi-disciplinary consultancy and technical support organization specializing in agriculture and rural development segments of the economy. The company has been providing broad-based consultancy services since 1968. Of late, the company has diversified into large scale grassroots level project implementation under watershed development, livelihood promotions, organic farming, agriculture extension services, environmental impact assessments, retail microfinance operations, training and capacity building, education, skill development and financial literacy.
AFC is now serving the entire value chain of agriculture and rural development from policy advocacy to project implementation, training and capacity building to skill development in rural and semi-urban areas. The company envisages to be an institution delivering last mile connectivity to various development initiatives of the Government on Pan India basis and sharing the experience with other countries. Associations with the partners based on the principle of win-win situation are the core of the business strategy of the company.
Promoted and owned by Banks and Development Finance Institutions, AFC is a Board Driven Deemed Government Company u/s 619-B of the Companies Act, 1956. Headquartered at Mumbai, the company is operating from 12 locations in India.
In its four decades of its existence, AFC has been involved in more than 5000 consulting assignments in India and also in other countries. AFC’s services has been utilised by various Ministries and Institutions of the Central and State Governments and Multi-lateral funding institutions like World Bank, Asian Development Bank, International Fund for Agricultural Development, UNDP/UNOPS, DFID, Islamic Bank.
