- The scheme envisages construction of the main canal of 565 km length with six branch canals and distributaries and eight balancing reservoir located in the command area in the four districts.
- The total lift involved is 262 m in 9 stages. The main canal and all branch canals fall in Ananthapur district.
- Total land requirement for the project is 10582.56 ha. of which 440.53 ha. is forest land. 75 ha forest land would be submerged in Cherlopalli reservoir and 363.53 ha forest land will be required for canal network. Forest clearance yet to be obtained.
- 21 villages are affected due to submergence under reservoir affecting 2355 families.
- The total cost of the project is 236.56 crores.
