AFC prepared five year comprehensive plans for providing supplementary wage employment opportunities in rural areas and enhancing food security through creation of need based durable community assets. The task involved discussion with development functionaries at district and the blocks, field survey and focus group discussions in villages. The views of Block Development Officers, Gram Panchayat Pradhans and People’s Representatives were invited. Primary and secondary data obtained were tabulated, analysed and the proposals were sent to the Chief Development Officer and BDOs concerned for finalization and approval in BDC meetings. On the basis of the feedback the plan was finalized.

Social Audit Under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in Unnao District – Deptt. of Rural Development, Government of U.P – 2007
The main objectives of the social audit were to ascertain extent of people’s active participation, quality of work and transparency in the implementation of NREGS. Intensive training was provided to District Resource Group, Block Resource Group and Resource Persons from each revenue village to enable them to participate in the social audit process. From each Panchayat, two resource persons nominated by the Gram Panchayat were trained in batches of 50 at block headquarter.

After site inspection of various works completed/under execution, discussions/interactions at various levels (District, selected blocks and Gram Panchayats) including the communities at grassroots level and perusal of relevant records, suggestions were offered for consideration of Government for effective implementation of NREGS in the district in particular and other NREGS districts of the State in general. |
